The final product taking advantage of natural light.
Somewhat step-by-step process on how I put my light together, which involved a hint of frustration and late night cussing. It isn’t shown here in the pictures, but I had to sand every single edge of all 45 triangles to an angle of 20.75degrees so that when I stitched them together, the edges meet up. I spent 3 consecutive hours on the disk sander for this.

Something I made for my Graphics assignment, about my Objects assignment.

Plan, Section and Elevation drawings of the top floor of my apartment unit and kitchen area for a Design and Computers 3 Vectorwork assignment that I happily handed in today :) 1 assignment down, 3 more to go over the next 3 weeks…

New Lighting proposal
Series of 3D Rendered Drawings on Vectorworks. Looking at how my light can take many forms to suit end-user’s needs in terms of what they want, a floor, pendant or table lamp.

CONCEPT

THE media experience that inspired the design of this font is the photosharing application and social network, Instagram. Remains is a response to how I use the application, which is to take photos of food and share what I cook, what I eat and where I eat, daily.

THE design idea further developed from what I had been told by my mother as a child, to “never leave anything edible on my plate” and to “think of all the children starving in Africa.” So I’ve been trained to eat everything edible on my plate as a child, only leaving behind what I
cannot consume for example, bones and shells.

THEREFORE the design of the letters is based on the shape of a bone from a chicken drumette. The alphabet is presented in uppercase to express importance and enforcement in a way that I have been ordered to eat a certain way. In addtion, the thin lines that create the individual letters provide a sense of cleanliness, again reflecting on the idea of how I had to ‘clean’ my plate, making sure that I left nothing behind to please my mother. Also, the thin lines reflect the starving children in Africa, thin to their bones due to the lack of food.
Playing around with Chicken Drumette Bones for my final typeface.
Further experimentations, this time using Instagram as my media experience, and looking into what it is that I really use Instagram for…
An exercise for Graphics Media Studio 2, Project 1: Typographic Space. Basically this exercise is a typographic representation of a media experience that communicates the emotional effects of the sounds and smells of the experience. Mine is about music and what medium I used to listen to my music, and in particular what I listened to most during the week.
